Everyone, including first-time partipant 'Peppy' with 20-month-old Carter McLean.  The pair were dressed in western-themed apparel and Carter was happy to pose for a photo for Opinion250 after his fashion debut, but had been a little less certain in front of the crowd.  In the end, Mom, Erica McLean, gave Carter a lift, while allowing Peppy to put her best paw forward. Also making a premiere appearance, the trio of princesses at left.  Owners, 12-year-old Josie and 10-year-old Katy Wendling, led Lucy willingly along. Lucy used to be a therapy dog, but she appeared to enjoy the fashion experience....

In fact, participants in the 8th Annual CNC Doggie Fashion Show were on their best behaviour - just a few barks of approval, with no bite. Appreciative 'doggie fashion' followers lined the runway in the atrium at the college for the annual fundraiser for the SPCA.  "It's been very successful through the years," says Coordinator, Barb Old.  "We've raised $8-thousand dollars for the SPCA, plus pallets of food, toys, and cleaning supplies.  It's an event people look forward to." Everyone, including first-time partipant 'Peppy' with 20-month-old Carter McLean....

Full View  Lucy used to be a therapy dog, but she appeared to enjoy the fashion experience.  Josie says her Dad works at the college and told her about the show, and the girls thought it would be a fun way to spend the afternoon. Participants paid a $10 registration fee.  The four judges for the event were Kathi Travers, Garth Frizzell, Laurie Kosec, and Angela McLean. Prizes were awarded for Best in Show, Most Original, the People's Choice Award and the Jasper Memorial Award.  Jasper was a bichon that Old rescued from the SPCA shelter.  CNC's Dean of Community and International Relations says, "The award is for a shelter or rescue dog who conducts himself with dignity."
